My Story
Hey I’m Jax!
I am an over 48, single mom on a midlife evolution journey looking to help other women glow-up in midlife.
 
I’m Jax-short for Jackie-a midlife mom, corporate escape artist in the making, certified life & wellness coach, podcaster, blogger, content creator and professional life-juggler. I’m so thrilled  you stopped by my corner on the web.
 
I have a question for you. Have you ever looked around and thought, “What’s next?” Have you ever thought I am just not happy with the direction my life is going. Whether it be health & wellness, your finances, your style & beauty routines, your mindset or lifestyle. Well, I have a secret for you. It is never to late to change your life. You are never too far gone. You need to live your life like you’d want to live it twice. Together, we’re going to figure it out, and spoiler alert: it’s going to be amazing.

For 26 years, I rocked the “Mom of One” gig, raising my incredible son solo while juggling work, life, sports practices, family vacations, and those chaotic, key-losing moments in between. (Seriously, I’m convinced my car keys are plotting against me!) With a business degree from Cleveland State University and a real estate license under my belt, I built a steady career in banking-enduring more corporate meetings than any human should.

So a bit of my story and background…
 

Back in 2012 life was getting to me and I was was struggling with stress and finances and balancing everything. I was dealing with anxiety issues, sleep issues and depression. I was hospitalized when my son was 13 for my mental health. This was a mental breakdown I experienced. And it was life changing for both my son and I. Over several years staying on my medications I was strong and stable, but the pounds creeped up and before I knew it I had gained over 200 lbs. I had lost that zing in life. I got lazy and I lacked style and beauty routines. My mindset was numb and fixed.

Fast forward to 2022, I was working as a Sr. Mortgage Underwriter and was let go from my high-paying, not so secure job due to mass industry layoffs. At this time I weighed 390 lbs, I was in extreme debt, my son was away at college, and I was completely in shock being jobless at 45. The only thing I could do was update my resume, apply for jobs and start walking every morning at dawn. Within one month I landed a new position, within 3 months I lost 30 lbs. I started learning about nutrition for midlife women, I changed my complete diet, I joined the gym, my Doctor rolled back my medications, I started caring about my style and beauty, I got a second part-time job and began chiseling away at my credit card debt and I got a life coach for support and accountability. I started speaking positive to myself, reading affirmations and leaving myself amazing voice notes. I started listening to audiobooks and podcasts, reading and talking all the courses I could about wellness, weight loss, nutrition, self-development, goal setting, productivity, habits, emotions, mindset and money.

Now at 48-years-old I have lost 170 lbs, I have paid off over $33K in debt, I have obtained my Life Coaching & Wellness Coaching Certifications. I still have more of a midlife evolution to go. I have another 80 lbs. to loose, I still have more debt to payoff, I still have more places to travel too and I want help and support other women who are struggling in midlife. I want to become the woman of my dreams and I am looking forward to what the future entails.

So why am I doing this?
  1. To create a safe space for women like you, who are ready to reinvent themselves, rediscover their sparkle, and embrace the magic of midlife.
  2. Soon to come…Life & Wellness Coaching which will be a safe space to help you achieve all your dreams and goals. I will provide accountability, education, and real world experience. I will walk with you to find out what’s missing, set new goals, create a plan, and help make your midlife season the best one yet.
  3. This blog is your safe, empowering corner of the internet. You’ll find stories from my journey, practical advice, lessons learned the hard way (so you don’t have to), and a whole lot of encouragement to help you thrive.
  4. Whether it’s losing weight and getting healthy, paying off debt and building financial freedom, leveling up your confidence and personal growth, finding your personal style and beauty routines, or navigating midlife relationships and social circles without pulling your hair out-we’re doing it all. And we’re doing it with humor, heart, and some killer playlists.
  5. To hold myself accountable-because, let’s face it, we all need a little nudge sometimes. I still have plenty of weight to loose, I want to improve my style game, I want to travel more and I want to reach out to other likeminded women on their own midlife journey. Sharing my story holds me accountable and keeps me focused.

So, buckle up, because the best chapters of our lives? Is just getting started. Midlife isn’t the end-it’s the glow-up you didn’t know you were waiting for.

👟 Getting ahead of the New Year. Walking everyday till I reach my goal weight of 140 lbs. for at least 45 minutes to an hour every morning at 4:30am.♥️ I also strength train, stretch and use my sauna at home.

🍞 Quick snack or snackGoat cheese, raspberries and honey on toast.Use a senses, healthy bread. I prefer a whole grain sprouted bread for this snack.
Take about a tablespoon of goat cheese a smear it min the bread.
A handful of fresh raspberries and smash them in a small bowl.
Apply smashes raspberries on top of goat cheese and bread.
Drizzle with honey and enjoy.Great for breakfast or snack or snack.Have a great day!
